Launch of ‘e-Gazette Portal’ and ‘Chandigarh Gazette Mobile App’.

The ‘e-Gazette Portal’ and ‘Chandigarh Gazette Mobile App’ of Chandigarh Administration is launched by H.E. Sh. V.P. Singh Badnore, Governor of Punjab and Administrator UT Chandigarh on 13th September 2019 during the meeting of Administrator’s Advisory Council at Hotel Mountview, Chandigarh. Also present on the occasion were Ms Kiron Kher, Member of Parliament, Chandigarh, Mr Manoj Parida, IAS, Adviser to the Administrator, Mr Arun Gupta, IAS, Principal Secretary Home, Mr Ajoy Kumar Sinha, IAS, Finance Secretary, Mr Sanjay Baniwal, IPS, DGP, senior officers of the administration, members of the Administrator’s Advisory Council and other dignitaries.

Several notifications are issued by different Government Departments concerning different subjects, which are relevant to Government, Industry, Citizens etc. These Departments send the notifications to the Department of Printing & Stationery for publishing in the Official Gazette. Once the notification is published in the Official Gazette, it becomes Gazette Notification. On an initiative of Printing and Stationery Department, Chandigarh UT, electronic publishing of Gazette has been started replacing the system of manual printing. This initiative shall not only result in the saving of paper, labour as well as time but also make the searching of Gazette notifications much faster and simpler. When any new notification is issued by Chandigarh Administration, e-Gazette portal will automatically send soft copy of notification to registered subscribers.

The e-Gazette application (https://egazette.chd.gov.in/) has been adopted from NIC Himachal Pradesh State Unit and customised by NIC UT Chandigarh as per the requirements of Printing and Stationery Department, Chandigarh UT. The Android based App, “Chandigarh Gazette” has been developed by Centre for Competence for Mobile App Development, Himachal Pradesh and it facilitates searching of notifications and gazettes.
