    Launch of ‘Online Issuance of Fire Safety Certificate Application’, ‘e-Gazette Portal’ and‘Chandigarh Gazette Mobile App’

    The ‘Online Issuance of Fire Safety Certificate Application’, ‘e-Gazette Portal’ and ‘Chandigarh Gazette Mobile App’ of Chandigarh Administration were launched by H.E. Sh. V.P. Singh Badnore, Governor of Punjab and Administrator UT Chandigarh on 13th September 2019 during the meeting of Administrator’s Advisory Council at Hotel Mountview, Chandigarh. Also present on the occasion were Ms Kiron Kher, Member of Parliament, Chandigarh, Mr Manoj Parida, IAS, Adviser to the Administrator, Mr Arun Gupta, IAS, Principal Secretary Home, Mr Ajoy Kumar Sinha, IAS, Finance Secretary, Mr Sanjay Baniwal, IPS, DGP, senior officers of the administration, members of the Administrator’s Advisory Council and other dignitaries.

    Fire Safety Certificate Application – Fire Safety Certificate is a document issued by Local Fire Services Authority after ascertaining the adequacy of firefighting and safety arrangements in various types of building occupancies in accordance with Fire Safety Act and National Building Code of India. There are nine different types of occupancies which require Fire Safety Certificate. Fire Safety Certificate Application for Municipal Corporation, Chandigarh(http://mcchandigarh.gov.in) has been developed using ServicePlus. It covers complete workflow of the processes involved i.e. the online application Performa is filled by the applicant and the required documents and photographs are uploaded online, the documents are received online and scrutinized in Chief Fire Officer’s(CFO) office and marked to Station Fire Officer, who sets date for inspection, upload inspection report and recommend CFO to issue Fire Safety Certificate, which is available to applicant for download. System generated SMS alerts are being sent to applicant to inform about status of application, objections in scrutiny, inspection date/discrepancies/deficiencies observed etc. Applicant can make online payment of fee through net banking or debit/credit card and track the application status online.

    Fire safety
